Summit Speaker Announcement: JANIE DOWDA
We are delighted to announce Janie Dowda as a co-presenter for the 2021 NC Sexual Violence Primary Prevention Summit!
Janie Dowda is the Rape Prevention Education Coordinator at The Rape Crisis Center of Coastal Horizons Center. There she works to reduce the incidence of rape and sexual assault by implementing primary prevention strategies that focus on adolescents in the local school system and in addition programs for parents, caregivers, and the community. She obtained a B.S. degree in Community Health Education from the University of North Carolina Wilmington’s Public Health Department in 2012. Although a North Carolina native, Janie called the New York City area her home for five years. Janie is happy to call Wilmington her home once again for the past three years, where she has lived by the beach with her two cats and works with an amazing group of people.
