Summit Speaker Announcement: ALPHA ARNETT
We are delighted to announce Alpha Arnett as a speaker for the 2021 NC Sexual Violence Primary Prevention Summit!
Alpha David Arnett is a Community/Youth specialist with more than 25 years of professional, community and faith-based experience and education. He’s worked as a counselor for adolescents, a youth specialist, a sports program developer and as director of a Manhood Training program in Washington, DC. He has consulted with churches and community organizations in the development of Rites of Passage and mentoring programs, and also co-authored a curriculum designed to prevent Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence. He has presented at several conferences on the subject of sexual assault and domestic violence prevention. He served for nearly 15 years as a community support counselor for youth and families in Charlotte, NC, and is a NC Qualified Mental Health Professional, with extensive experience working with those diagnosed with ADHD, ODD, and depression. He attended Howard University, received his B.A. from Johnson C. Smith University, and his M.Div. from Gardner-Webb University. Also, he is a board member for two non-profit community based organizations.
Alpha will be part of “Engaging Men & Boys in SV Prevention: Past, Present, Future,” a conversation facilitated by Nakisha Floyd.
