Summit Speaker Announcement: TONY CASAS
We are delighted to announce Tony Casas as a conversation panelist for the 2021 NC Sexual Violence Primary Prevention Summit!
Tony is a passionate family man, committed community advocate and an active change agent. Born in Mexico, he moved to Southern CA at the age of 6 growing up with 5 older brothers, an older sister and a younger sister. Fluent in Spanish, he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and a Master’s of Divinity with 25 years of nonprofit experience serving local communities. From CA, he headed east for college in NY falling in love with the east coast after spending 8 years there. While in NY, he met and married his college sweetheart, Dr. Dawn Casas. They moved to MD for 10 years and added two beautiful daughters to their family who are now 16 and 13. Tony and family currently reside in Greensboro, NC where they’ve lived since 2010. For the last decade, Tony has served as a Bilingual Health Educator within the award winning Wise Guys healthy masculinity/male responsibility program through Children’s Home Society of North Carolina. In this capacity, he teaches and impacts over 600 middle/high schoolers across Guilford and Forsyth Counties per year. In addition to Wise Guys, Tony is a certified trainer/facilitator for the following programs: Caring for our Own, Cuidate!, Prime for Life, Project Alert, Project TND and 24/7 Dad. In 2016, Tony was recognized as a Notable Latino of the Triad and has served for multiple years on multiple boards including the Latino Community Coalition of Guilford and Partners for Healthy Youth which he chaired.
